Storage solutions for kids' books

Storage solutions for kids' books

I am super happy that both our children love books. We have read to our little bookworms from day dot and it is exciting to watch them now happily looking through their favourite books independently (and giving mum 5 minutes of peace). Plus I love doing bedtime stories...even if it is the same one on repeat sometimes!

To foster this love for reading, my goal has been for the kids to have easy access to books in the different areas of the house in which they play. This means we need appropriate storage so there aren't piles of books lying around the house. So here's a look at some of the storage solutions we use.

I mentioned in a previous post how handy my husband is... and here is the evidence! A few months ago, I was at frustration point with our morning routine of trying to get myself and my 2 children out the door on time without feeling frazzled and rushed. I was getting irritated at not having a central place for things like keys, sunnies, jewellery, and was sick of running back and forth between different rooms to grab the essentials for the kids - shoes, hats, coats, water...the list goes on! So I asked hubby if he could build a console - basically a stylish piece of furniture for the entryway that could serve double purpose as handy and functional storage for all the essential bits and bobs.
